Plenty of people assume an old clunker is worth next to nothing — dead engine, dented panels, or parked so long the tires have gone flat. Here's the truth: we'll take it in whatever shape it's in, and what we offer tends to surprise people in the best way. Call 800-219-4551 and we'll tell you what your car is really worth.
Anyone can post an ad promising to buy your car. Plenty will dangle a tempting offer, then vanish once they've seen it — or quietly shave the price the moment they're standing in your driveway. That's not how we work.
We service every part of Ahwahnee, including:
From your first phone call to cash in your pocket, it's just three steps — no detours, no surprise charges.
Give us the year, make, model, and rough condition, and we'll have a real offer for you in about two minutes.
Say yes and pick a time that works for you — often same-day, or within 24 to 48 hours. We come out to wherever the car sits in Ahwahnee: your place, your job, anywhere. You stay put.
Our driver shows up with the paperwork, puts payment in your hands, and then tows the car away. Start to finish in well under half an hour.
The price we quote is the price you get. As long as your car matches what you described, nothing changes at pickup.
Tell us a time that works for you, anywhere in Ahwahnee or Madera County. We come to you — you don't drive anywhere.
Selling a car in California takes a few forms, and our driver brings what's needed and walks you through it. The car does need a clear title in your name — no active loans or liens.
Every car we buy could be potentially resold at auction, or used for parts, or recycled at a licensed California yard. Nothing gets dumped or left behind.
Every car we look at in Ahwahnee falls into one of a few buckets below — and every one of them gets a real cash offer.
Starts, drives, and still has life left in it. These usually get our strongest offers since less work is needed before resale.
Rusted through, stripped, or simply too far gone to drive again. We still buy these and pay based on weight and scrap value.
Carries a salvage title or was written off by insurance after an accident. We buy these with or without paperwork in hand.
Blown engine, seized motor, slipping gears, or stuck in park — mechanical failures like these don't change whether we'll buy it, just the number.
Lost it or never had it? Missing paperwork slows things down a little, but it rarely stops a sale. Note: we're not able to buy cars with an active loan still on them.
No surprise deductions when our driver shows up. The number we give you over the phone or online is the number you get paid.
There's no towing fee folded into the offer and no fee taken out after. Pickup and tow are always free in Ahwahnee.
Running, wrecked, missing parts, or sitting on a salvage title — we evaluate every car in Ahwahnee on its own, not by a blanket rule.
You get paid on the spot at pickup, before the car ever leaves your driveway.
Selling a car in Ahwahnee means signing the title over the right way. Title rules are set at the state level, so here's exactly what California asks of you — and remember, when you sell to us, our driver brings the paperwork and walks you through every step at pickup.
In California, sign the front of the title on line 1A as the registered owner; a second registered owner signs on line 1B. Then complete the odometer and sale-price lines.
No — notarization is not required.
Keep your plates — they stay with you and can transfer to your next car.
No problem — file an Application for Duplicate Title (REG 227) with the CA DMV.
No title in hand? We regularly buy cars without titles in California — have your ID and registration handy.
Good to know: California requires a smog certification on most sales, though many older and non-running cars are exempt.

Ahwahnee is a census-designated place nestled in the western foothills of the Sierra Nevada in Madera County, California, at an elevation of 2,326 feet, about five miles west of Yosemite Forks. With a population of 2,296 as of the 2020 census, this small community has a rich history shaped by its location along the route to Yosemite National Park.
The area developed in the 1890s as a stagecoach stop on the Raymond-Wawona road. In 1899, operators Albert Henry Washburn and William M. Sell, Sr. built the Ahwahnee Tavern, a two-story inn that became a midway point for travelers heading to Yosemite. The name "Ahwahnee," suggested by Mary Peck Sell, derived from a Miwok word meaning "grassy valley." The tavern gained prominence as a waystation, hosting notable visitors including President Theodore Roosevelt, who stopped there in 1903, along with figures like Susan B. Anthony, Andrew Carnegie, and John D. Rockefeller. Tourist traffic declined after 1907 when the Yosemite Valley Railroad provided faster access to the park.
From 1919 to 1969, Ahwahnee served as home to the Tri-County Tuberculosis Sanatorium, a regional treatment facility jointly funded by Madera, Merced, and Stanislaus counties. The site's elevation and air quality made it suitable for tuberculosis care during that era. After the sanatorium closed, the property eventually became Ahwahnee Hills Regional Park in 2014, featuring hiking trails and preserved historic remnants. The area also includes Wassama Round House State Historic Park, a reconstructed Miwok ceremonial site reflecting the region's indigenous heritage.
