We buy cars for cash all over Akutan and the surrounding Aleutians East County area — running or not, any make, any model, free towing, scheduled pickup.
Plenty of folks figure a tired old car is worth next to nothing — dead engine, dented panels, or parked so long the tires have gone flat. Here's the truth: we'll take it in whatever shape it's in, and the figure tends to surprise people in the best way. Call 800-219-4551 and we'll tell you what yours is genuinely worth.
Anyone can post an ad promising to buy your car. A lot of them will dangle a tempting number, then disappear once they've seen it, or shave the price the moment they're standing in your driveway. That's simply not how we work.
We service every part of Akutan, including:
From your first phone call to cash in your pocket, it's just three steps — no detours, no surprise charges.
Give us the year, make, model, and rough condition. A genuine offer comes back inside two minutes — nobody calling you back later, nobody twisting your arm.
Say yes and choose a time that suits you — frequently same-day or the day after. We roll out to wherever the car sits in Akutan: your place, your job, anywhere. You stay put.
Our driver shows up with the paperwork, loads the car, and puts payment in your hands before pulling away. Start to finish in well under half an hour.
You've probably heard how it goes elsewhere: a high number to reel you in, then the driver arrives, "finds" a bad converter or a shot transmission mount, and suddenly your offer is $300 lighter. We've lost count of how many Akutan sellers have told us that exact story. We price your car honestly up front, and that figure is what we hand over — full stop.
After you take the offer, we'll line up a pickup slot built around your schedule — commonly same-day or next-day if you're anywhere in Akutan or the wider Aleutians East County area. Our trucks are out this way constantly, so finding a time is almost never a problem. One call and it's booked.
Signing a car over in Alaska comes with more forms than most folks bargain for — doubly so when the title is tangled or there's still a loan attached. Our drivers bring every document, handle this process daily, and file it right the first time, so nothing comes back to bite you down the road.
Once your Akutan vehicle is ours, it moves on to a second life — resold, broken down for parts, or recycled at licensed yards that follow every Alaska environmental rule. Nothing gets dumped or left behind; each car is dealt with the right way.
Every car we look at in Akutan falls into one of a few buckets below — and every one of them gets a real cash offer.
Starts, drives, and still has life left in it. These usually get our strongest offers since less work is needed before resale.
Rusted through, stripped, or simply too far gone to drive again. We still buy these and pay based on weight and scrap value.
Carries a salvage title or was written off by insurance after an accident. We buy these with or without paperwork in hand.
Blown engine, seized motor, slipping gears, or stuck in park — mechanical failures like these don't change whether we'll buy it, just the number.
Lost it or never had it? Missing paperwork slows things down a little, but it rarely stops a sale. Note: we're not able to buy cars with an active loan still on them.
No surprise deductions when our driver shows up. The number we give you over the phone or online is the number you get paid.
There's no towing fee folded into the offer and no fee taken out after. Pickup and tow are always free in Akutan.
Running, wrecked, missing parts, or sitting on a salvage title — we evaluate every car in Akutan on its own, not by a blanket rule.
You get paid on the spot at pickup, before the car ever leaves your driveway.
Selling a car in Akutan means signing the title over the right way. Title rules are set at the state level, so here's exactly what Alaska asks of you — and remember, when you sell to us, our driver brings the paperwork and walks you through every step at pickup.
In Alaska, sign and date the title in the seller area and fill in the odometer.
No — notarization is not required.
Keep your plates — they stay with you and can transfer to your next car.
No problem — request a duplicate title from the Alaska DMV (Form 812).
No title in hand? Bring your ID and registration and we will sort out the Alaska paperwork with you.
Good to know: Plates stay with the seller in Alaska, not the vehicle.

Akutan is a city located on Akutan Island in the Aleutian Islands, approximately 35 miles east of Unalaska and 766 miles southwest of Anchorage. The community began in 1878 as a fur storage and trading port for the Western Fur & Trading Company, which established a commercial cod fishing and processing business that drew nearby Unangan people to the area. A Russian Orthodox church and school were constructed that same year, later replaced by the St. Alexander Nevsky Chapel in 1918. The Pacific Whaling Company built the Aleutians' only whaling station across the bay in 1912, operating it until 1939.
Akutan's history was significantly shaped by World War II. Following the Japanese attack on Unalaska in June 1942, the U.S. government evacuated residents to the Ketchikan area. That same month, a Japanese A6M Zero fighter piloted by Tadayoshi Koga crashed on Akutan Island and was recovered by the United States Army Air Force in July. This aircraft, known as the Akutan Zero, proved invaluable to American military strategists in developing fighter tactics to combat the Zero, helping to alter the war's course.
The village was reestablished in 1944, though many residents chose not to return, bringing substantial changes to traditional Unangan lifestyles. The city incorporated in 1979 and has since grown into a thriving fishing community. With a population of 1,589 at the 2020 census, up from 1,027 in 2010, Akutan was the fourth fastest-growing city in Alaska during that decade. Today, the federally recognized Native Village of Akutan remains centered in the community, which continues to rely heavily on fish processing as its economic foundation.
