Fox is an unincorporated community located in Carter County in southern Oklahoma. Named for Frank M. Fox of the Chickasaw Nation, the community established its post office on January 25, 1894. According to the 2020 census, Fox had a population of 92 residents.
The community is entirely rural, with all residents living outside urban areas. The median age of Fox residents was 48.0 years, with a notably older population: 31.5 percent were age 65 or older, while only 17.4 percent were under 18. The gender composition slightly favored males, with 114 males for every 100 females. Fox contained 39 households and 52 housing units, with about 25 percent of the housing units vacant. Just over half of all households were married-couple families, while single-parent and single-person households made up the remainder. Approximately 33.3 percent of households consisted of individuals living alone.
Fox has produced notable alumni, including Robert L. Lynn, who graduated from Fox High School in 1949 and later became president of Louisiana College in Pineville, Louisiana, serving in that role from 1975 to 1997.
