Utopia is a census-designated place in Uvalde County, Texas, with a population of 225 as of the 2020 census. The town has roots in utopian idealism dating back to the nineteenth century. After a failed socialist settlement attempt in Dallas, Victor Prosper Considerant purchased 47,000 acres of land in Sabinal Canyon in hopes of establishing another utopian community, though that vision never came to fruition. The town itself was formally platted in 1884 under the name Montana, but was renamed to Utopia when organizers discovered the Montana name was already in use. The community replaced Waresville as the local post office, though the historic Waresville cemetery remains as a reminder of the earlier settlement.

Tourism to the area increased significantly after the 1979 establishment of Lost Maples State Natural Area nearby, and the town is also close to Garner State Park.
