Anyone can post an ad promising to buy your car. Plenty will dangle a tempting offer, then vanish once they've seen it — or quietly shave the price the moment they're standing in your driveway. That's not how we work.

  • We bring the DMV paperwork and walk you through it at pickup.

The Process

How It Works in Wake Forest

From your first phone call to cash in your pocket, it's just three steps — no detours, no surprise charges.

1

Tell Us About the Car

Give us the year, make, model, and rough condition, and we'll have a real offer for you in about two minutes.

2

We Drive Out to Wake Forest

Say yes and pick a time that works for you — often same-day, or within 24 to 48 hours. We come out to wherever the car sits in Wake Forest: your place, your job, anywhere. You stay put.

3

Get Paid Before We Leave

Our driver shows up with the paperwork, puts payment in your hands, and then tows the car away. Start to finish in well under half an hour.

Check Your Paperwork

Can I Sell My Car in Wake Forest?

Two questions. Tells you exactly where you stand.

Do you have the title in your name?

Is there still a loan or lien on the car?

This includes title loans, and any bank or lender listed as lienholder.

If you have the title and it's paid off

You're good to go

Clean title, no lien. Have the title, a photo ID, and the keys ready at pickup — our driver brings the rest of the paperwork.

Get my cash offer
If you've lost the title (and there's no lien)

Still workable

A missing title usually isn't a dealbreaker. Bring a photo ID and the vehicle registration if you have it. We handle no-title sales regularly — just tell us your situation when you call.

If there's still a lien or title loan on the car

Not yet — the lien has to be cleared first

A car with an active lien or title loan can't be sold until the lender releases it. Pay off the balance, get the lien release from your lender, and the title becomes yours to sell. Once that's done, give us a call — we'll buy it.

If you're not sure whether there's a lien

Easy to check

Look at the front of your title — if a bank or lender is printed in the lienholder section, there's a lien on the car. If you financed it and haven't paid it off, assume there is one. Still unsure? Call us and we'll work through it with you.

If you have no title and aren't sure about a lien

Check with your lender

Without the title in hand, the quickest way to know is to contact the lender you financed through, or request a title record from your state's motor vehicle office. If you never financed the car, there's almost certainly no lien. Call us and we'll help you sort it out.

Selling Your Title in North Carolina

How to Sign Over a Car Title in North Carolina

Selling a car in Wake Forest means signing the title over the right way. Title rules are set at the state level, so here's exactly what North Carolina asks of you — and remember, when you sell to us, our driver brings the paperwork and walks you through every step at pickup.

Where to sign

In North Carolina, sign the title in front of a notary — North Carolina requires notarized title transfers.

Notary required?

Yes — the seller signature must be notarized.

Your license plates

Return your plates to the state to stop registration fees.

Lost your title?

No problem — apply for a duplicate title (MVR-4) with the NC DMV.

No title in hand? Have ID and registration ready and we will help with the North Carolina process.

Good to know: North Carolina requires the seller signature on the title to be notarized.

For the official rules, see the North Carolina DMV title page.

Why Wee Pay Cash For Cars in Wake Forest?

Done Properly — Start to Finish

The Quote Is the Price

The price we quote is the price you get. As long as your car matches what you described, nothing changes at pickup.

We Pick Up on Your Schedule

Tell us a time that works for you, anywhere in Wake Forest or Wake County. We come to you — you don't drive anywhere.

We Handle the Paperwork

Selling a car in North Carolina takes a few forms, and our driver brings what's needed and walks you through it. Don't have the title? That's usually workable — just tell us up front. The one thing we can't buy is a car with an active lien or title loan on it.

Towing Is Free, and You're Paid Before It Leaves

The tow costs you nothing — it isn't folded into the offer or taken out afterward. You're paid on the spot at pickup, before the car ever leaves your driveway.

Where Your Car Goes Next

Every car we buy may be resold at auction, used for parts, or recycled at a licensed North Carolina yard. Nothing gets dumped or left behind.

What We Buy in Wake Forest

Whatever Shape It's In, We're Interested

Every car we look at in Wake Forest falls into one of a few buckets below — and every one of them gets a real cash offer.

Good Running Condition

Starts, drives, and still has life left in it. These usually get our strongest offers since less work is needed before resale.

Junk / Scrap Condition

Rusted through, stripped, or simply too far gone to drive again. We still buy these and pay based on weight and scrap value.

Salvage / Totaled

Carries a salvage title or was written off by insurance after an accident. We buy these with or without paperwork in hand.

Bad Motor or Transmission

Blown engine, seized motor, slipping gears, or stuck in park — mechanical failures like these don't change whether we'll buy it, just the number.

No Title in Hand

Lost it or never had it? Missing paperwork slows things down a little, but it rarely stops a sale. The one exception: we can't buy a car that still has an active lien or title loan on it.

Junk Car Prices — Wake Forest, NC

What Is a Junk Car Worth in Wake Forest?

The floor on any junk car is its weight in scrap metal. As of September 2026, U.S. yards are paying roughly $150–$200 a ton for whole cars. Multiply that by your car's weight and you have the least it's worth.

Cars with good parts, a catalytic converter still on, or an engine that runs are often worth more than scrap — that's why we price every car on a call, not a chart.

The scrap math

weight ÷ 2,000 × price per ton

A 3,300 lb sedan is 1.65 tons. At $175 a ton, that's about $290 in metal.

Can I get $500 for my junk car?

Sometimes. At today's rates a full-size truck or SUV can reach $500 on weight alone. Smaller cars usually need something extra — a newer year, good parts, or a running engine.

Vehicle typeExamplesTypical weightScrap value
Compact carCivic, Corolla, Focus · 2,800 lbs Civic, Corolla, Focus 2,800 lbs $210–$280
Midsize sedanCamry, Accord, Malibu · 3,300 lbs Camry, Accord, Malibu 3,300 lbs $250–$330

Pickup truckF-150, Silverado, Ram · 4,800 lbs F-150, Silverado, Ram 4,800 lbs $360–$480
Full-size SUVTahoe, Expedition, Suburban · 5,600 lbs Tahoe, Expedition, Suburban 5,600 lbs $420–$560

Scrap rates as of September 2026, updated monthly. Scrap value is a floor, not a quote — yards subtract for tires and fluids, and your actual offer depends on your car. Call 800-219-4551 for your real offer.

A Little About Wake Forest

The Story of Wake Forest, NC

Wake Forest is a town located in Wake and Franklin counties, sitting just north of Raleigh, North Carolina's state capital. At the 2020 census, the population reached 47,601, representing substantial growth from 30,117 in 2010. The town is part of the greater Raleigh metropolitan area.

The community's origins trace back to 1832 when Dr. Calvin Jones, originally from Massachusetts, purchased 615 acres of forested land in Wake County and established a plantation. The area became known as Wake Forest, and when Jones sold his farm to the North Carolina Baptist Convention for $2,000, they opened the Wake Forest Manual Labor Institute, which later became Wake Forest College. The arrival of the Raleigh & Gaston Railroad in 1840 spurred economic development, and after the railroad depot relocated closer to the college in 1874, growth accelerated. The community incorporated as the Town of Wake Forest College in 1880, dropping "College" from its name in 1909. The university relocated to Winston-Salem in 1956, after 122 years in Wake Forest. The Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary then occupied the original campus, beginning classes there in 1950.

Wake Forest enjoys a moderate subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild winters. The town benefits from its location at the Fall Line, where the Piedmont and Atlantic Coastal Plain regions meet. Forbes magazine recognized Wake Forest's growth in 2007, naming it the twentieth fastest-growing suburb in America, with a 73.2 percent population increase between 2000 and 2006. Today, the town offers performing arts venues, historic sites, and recreational areas including Falls Lake State Recreation Area.
