Plenty of people assume an old clunker is worth next to nothing — dead engine, dented panels, or parked so long the tires have gone flat. Here's the truth: we'll take it in whatever shape it's in, and what we offer tends to surprise people in the best way. Call 800-219-4551 and we'll tell you what your car is really worth.
Anyone can post an ad promising to buy your car. Plenty will dangle a tempting offer, then vanish once they've seen it — or quietly shave the price the moment they're standing in your driveway. That's not how we work.
We service every part of Gerber, including:
From your first phone call to cash in your pocket, it's just three steps — no detours, no surprise charges.
Give us the year, make, model, and rough condition, and we'll have a real offer for you in about two minutes.
Say yes and pick a time that works for you — often same-day, or within 24 to 48 hours. We come out to wherever the car sits in Gerber: your place, your job, anywhere. You stay put.
Our driver shows up with the paperwork, puts payment in your hands, and then tows the car away. Start to finish in well under half an hour.
The price we quote is the price you get. As long as your car matches what you described, nothing changes at pickup.
Tell us a time that works for you, anywhere in Gerber or Tehama County. We come to you — you don't drive anywhere.
Selling a car in California takes a few forms, and our driver brings what's needed and walks you through it. The car does need a clear title in your name — no active loans or liens.
Every car we buy could be potentially resold at auction, or used for parts, or recycled at a licensed California yard. Nothing gets dumped or left behind.
Every car we look at in Gerber falls into one of a few buckets below — and every one of them gets a real cash offer.
Starts, drives, and still has life left in it. These usually get our strongest offers since less work is needed before resale.
Rusted through, stripped, or simply too far gone to drive again. We still buy these and pay based on weight and scrap value.
Carries a salvage title or was written off by insurance after an accident. We buy these with or without paperwork in hand.
Blown engine, seized motor, slipping gears, or stuck in park — mechanical failures like these don't change whether we'll buy it, just the number.
Lost it or never had it? Missing paperwork slows things down a little, but it rarely stops a sale. Note: we're not able to buy cars with an active loan still on them.
No surprise deductions when our driver shows up. The number we give you over the phone or online is the number you get paid.
There's no towing fee folded into the offer and no fee taken out after. Pickup and tow are always free in Gerber.
Running, wrecked, missing parts, or sitting on a salvage title — we evaluate every car in Gerber on its own, not by a blanket rule.
You get paid on the spot at pickup, before the car ever leaves your driveway.
Selling a car in Gerber means signing the title over the right way. Title rules are set at the state level, so here's exactly what California asks of you — and remember, when you sell to us, our driver brings the paperwork and walks you through every step at pickup.
In California, sign the front of the title on line 1A as the registered owner; a second registered owner signs on line 1B. Then complete the odometer and sale-price lines.
No — notarization is not required.
Keep your plates — they stay with you and can transfer to your next car.
No problem — file an Application for Duplicate Title (REG 227) with the CA DMV.
No title in hand? We regularly buy cars without titles in California — have your ID and registration handy.
Good to know: California requires a smog certification on most sales, though many older and non-running cars are exempt.

Gerber is a census-designated place in Tehama County, California, situated at an elevation of 226 feet. According to the 2020 United States census, the community had a population of 1,044 residents living in an area covering 0.9 square mile.
The town was platted in 1910 and named after the Gerber family, who were the original owners of the town site. A post office opened in Gerber in 1916, establishing the community as an official settlement. In its early years, Gerber served as a center supporting ranchers and alfalfa growers, reflecting the agricultural focus of the region.
From 1916 to 1965, Gerber held significant importance as a division point on the Southern Pacific Railroad, positioned between the Sacramento and Shasta Divisions. Located two miles north of the junction where the West Valley Line connected to Davis and the East Valley Line reached Sacramento via Chico and Marysville, the railroad facilities at Gerber included steam locomotive fueling and repair operations, crew-change accommodations, livestock yards, and an icing plant for refrigerator cars. This railroad presence made Gerber an important transportation hub during the steam locomotive era.
The transition to diesel locomotives, completed by 1955, gradually curtailed Gerber's railroad operations over the following decade until they eventually closed. Passenger service at the station continued longer, but was discontinued in 1972 when Amtrak's Coast Starlight stopped serving Gerber as a regular stop. Today, Gerber remains a small rural community, with one hundred percent of its residents living in rural areas as of the 2020 census.
