Dora is a city located in Walker County, Alabama, with a population of 2,297 according to the 2020 census. The area's history stretches back to the early 1830s when James M. Davis, Ezekiel Morgan, and Cole Smith became the first settlers. In 2023, the city annexed a large tract of land that provided direct interstate access at I-22 exit 78 for the first time in its history, with new developments underway in that area. The population has grown steadily, increasing from 2,024 in 2010 to 2,297 in 2020.
