Got a vehicle you're finally ready to part with? The hardest part is deciding, and you've already done that. From here, Wee Pay Cash For Cars keeps things simple and straightforward: reach out, hear your offer, give us the go-ahead, and we'll show up ready to pay. No long wait, no runaround.
Selling a car in Scotia shouldn't mean driving it anywhere — and with us, it doesn't. We work throughout Humboldt County and come straight to you, whether you're near the center of town or out toward the county line.
Plenty of people assume an old clunker is worth next to nothing — dead engine, dented panels, or parked so long the tires have gone flat. Here's the truth: we'll take it in whatever shape it's in, and what we offer tends to surprise people in the best way. Call 800-219-4551 and we'll tell you what your car is really worth.
Anyone can post an ad promising to buy your car. Plenty will dangle a tempting offer, then vanish once they've seen it — or quietly shave the price the moment they're standing in your driveway. That's not how we work.
We service every part of Scotia, including:
From your first phone call to cash in your pocket, it's just three steps — no detours, no surprise charges.
Give us the year, make, model, and rough condition, and we'll have a real offer for you in about two minutes.
Say yes and pick a time that works for you — often same-day, or within 24 to 48 hours. We come out to wherever the car sits in Scotia: your place, your job, anywhere. You stay put.
Our driver shows up with the paperwork, puts payment in your hands, and then tows the car away. Start to finish in well under half an hour.
The price we quote is the price you get. As long as your car matches what you described, nothing changes at pickup.
Tell us a time that works for you, anywhere in Scotia or Humboldt County. We come to you — you don't drive anywhere.
Selling a car in California takes a few forms, and our driver brings what's needed and walks you through it. The car does need a clear title in your name — no active loans or liens.
Every car we buy could be potentially resold at auction, or used for parts, or recycled at a licensed California yard. Nothing gets dumped or left behind.
Every car we look at in Scotia falls into one of a few buckets below — and every one of them gets a real cash offer.
Starts, drives, and still has life left in it. These usually get our strongest offers since less work is needed before resale.
Rusted through, stripped, or simply too far gone to drive again. We still buy these and pay based on weight and scrap value.
Carries a salvage title or was written off by insurance after an accident. We buy these with or without paperwork in hand.
Blown engine, seized motor, slipping gears, or stuck in park — mechanical failures like these don't change whether we'll buy it, just the number.
Lost it or never had it? Missing paperwork slows things down a little, but it rarely stops a sale. Note: we're not able to buy cars with an active loan still on them.
No surprise deductions when our driver shows up. The number we give you over the phone or online is the number you get paid.
There's no towing fee folded into the offer and no fee taken out after. Pickup and tow are always free in Scotia.
Running, wrecked, missing parts, or sitting on a salvage title — we evaluate every car in Scotia on its own, not by a blanket rule.
You get paid on the spot at pickup, before the car ever leaves your driveway.
Selling a car in Scotia means signing the title over the right way. Title rules are set at the state level, so here's exactly what California asks of you — and remember, when you sell to us, our driver brings the paperwork and walks you through every step at pickup.
In California, sign the front of the title on line 1A as the registered owner; a second registered owner signs on line 1B. Then complete the odometer and sale-price lines.
No — notarization is not required.
Keep your plates — they stay with you and can transfer to your next car.
No problem — file an Application for Duplicate Title (REG 227) with the CA DMV.
No title in hand? We regularly buy cars without titles in California — have your ID and registration handy.
Good to know: California requires a smog certification on most sales, though many older and non-running cars are exempt.

Scotia, located along the Eel River in Humboldt County about 8.5 miles southeast of Fortuna, began as a company town founded by the Pacific Lumber Company in 1863 under the name Forestville. The community was established to house workers for the region's thriving lumber operations. In 1888, the town was renamed Scotia to avoid confusion with another Forestville in Sonoma County. Local tradition holds that the new name was chosen by coin toss, selected because many residents had roots in the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
For over a century, Scotia remained entirely owned by the Pacific Lumber Company, thriving as one of the few company towns in the Pacific Northwest to survive the Great Depression and continue operating into the late twentieth century. The town's character is documented in the Neill Photo Albums, which capture daily life between 1908 and 1913. Most of Scotia's existing homes were built between the 1920s and 1950s.
Scotia faced significant challenges in its later years. The devastating 1992 Cape Mendocino earthquakes caused extensive damage throughout the community, destroying the Hoby's Market shopping center and damaging numerous homes. Following these difficulties, the Pacific Lumber Company declared bankruptcy in 2007. By 2008, the company had transferred ownership of the town's residential and commercial properties. Today, Scotia is home to 681 residents and is undergoing a subdivision process to convert the formerly company-owned homes into individually owned lots available for sale.
