East Brookfield is a town in Worcester County, Massachusetts, with a population of 2,224 according to the 2020 United States Census. European settlement began in 1664 as part of the Quaboag Plantation lands. The area became part of the town of Brookfield in 1673 and was officially incorporated as a separate town on March 24, 1920, making it the newest town by incorporation date in Massachusetts.
