Eastaboga is an unincorporated community straddling the border between Talladega and Calhoun counties in Alabama. The area has a rich history rooted in Native American heritage, with its name derived from the Muscogee language, meaning "where the people reside." The community began as McFall in the 1850s, named after an early settling family. It was incorporated as a town in 1898 but remained incorporated for only three years, being disincorporated in 1901. At the time of the 1900 census, when it was still known as McFall, the community had 820 residents, with a majority of 482 living on the Talladega County side and 338 on the Calhoun County side. The post office closed under the McFall name in 1906. Following disincorporation, the community became known as Eastaboga, while the nearby original community to the south retained the name Old Eastaboga. Located in the northern part of Talladega County along U.S. Route 78, Eastaboga sits about two miles north of Interstate 20, with convenient access to major regional cities. Birmingham lies 51 miles to the west via I-20, while Atlanta is 100 miles to the east. Anniston, the largest nearby city with over 20,000 residents, is just 13 miles away via I-20 or U.S. Route 78. The community has produced notable figures in sports, including Major League Baseball outfielder Howie Camp and NASCAR drivers Johnny Ray and Kevin Ray.
