Diamond Bar is a city in the San Gabriel Valley of eastern Los Angeles County, approximately 27 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. The 2020 census recorded a population of 55,072 residents. Transamerica Corporation acquired the entire ranch in the 1950s to develop one of the nation's first master-planned communities, incorporating the historic cattle brand into community logos. The first houses were built in 1959, with rapid growth following the construction of the Pomona Freeway ten years later. The City of Diamond Bar was officially incorporated on April 18, 1989. Today, the city features a public Los Angeles County golf course and is home to Southern California's first hydrogen fueling station, located near the South Coast Air Quality Management District building.
