Sell Your Car for Cash in Richmond — No Hassle, No Waiting

Got a vehicle you're finally ready to part with? The hardest part is deciding, and you've already done that. From here, Wee Pay Cash For Cars keeps things simple and straightforward: reach out, hear your offer, give us the go-ahead, and we'll show up ready to pay. No long wait, no runaround.

Richmond sits right in the heart of Contra Costa County, and we've spent years buying cars from neighborhoods all across it. Wherever you are — a busy street near downtown or a quiet cul-de-sac on the edge of town — we know the area and we come to you.

Plenty of people assume an old clunker is worth next to nothing — dead engine, dented panels, or parked so long the tires have gone flat. Here's the truth: we'll take it in whatever shape it's in, and what we offer tends to surprise people in the best way. Call 800-219-4551 and we'll tell you what your car is really worth.

What Sets Wee Pay Cash For Cars Apart in Richmond

Anyone can post an ad promising to buy your car. Plenty will dangle a tempting offer, then vanish once they've seen it — or quietly shave the price the moment they're standing in your driveway. That's not how we work.

  • The amount we quote you over the phone is the amount you're paid on the spot — as long as the vehicle's condition matches what you told us.

  • We handle every DMV form — one signature and you're done.
  • Free towing is always included — never subtracted from your offer.

Why Wee Pay Cash For Cars in Richmond?

Done Properly — Start to Finish

The Quote Is the Price

The price we quote is the price you get. As long as your car matches what you described, nothing changes at pickup.

We Pick Up on Your Schedule

Tell us a time that works for you, anywhere in Richmond or Contra Costa County. We come to you — you don't drive anywhere.

We Handle the Paperwork

Selling a car in California takes a few forms, and our driver brings what's needed and walks you through it. The car does need a clear title in your name — no active loans or liens.

Where Your Car Goes Next

Every car we buy could be potentially resold at auction, or used for parts, or recycled at a licensed California yard. Nothing gets dumped or left behind.

What We Buy in Richmond

Whatever Shape It's In, We're Interested

Every car we look at in Richmond falls into one of a few buckets below — and every one of them gets a real cash offer.

Good Running Condition

Starts, drives, and still has life left in it. These usually get our strongest offers since less work is needed before resale.

Junk / Scrap Condition

Rusted through, stripped, or simply too far gone to drive again. We still buy these and pay based on weight and scrap value.

Salvage / Totaled

Carries a salvage title or was written off by insurance after an accident. We buy these with or without paperwork in hand.

Bad Motor or Transmission

Blown engine, seized motor, slipping gears, or stuck in park — mechanical failures like these don't change whether we'll buy it, just the number.

No Title in Hand

Lost it or never had it? Missing paperwork slows things down a little, but it rarely stops a sale. Note: we're not able to buy cars with an active loan still on them.

Our Promise in Richmond

Why Richmond Sellers Choose Us

Quoted Price Is Final

No surprise deductions when our driver shows up. The number we give you over the phone or online is the number you get paid.

Free Towing, Every Time

There's no towing fee folded into the offer and no fee taken out after. Pickup and tow are always free in Richmond.

Any Condition Considered

Running, wrecked, missing parts, or sitting on a salvage title — we evaluate every car in Richmond on its own, not by a blanket rule.

Paid Before It Leaves

You get paid on the spot at pickup, before the car ever leaves your driveway.

Common Questions

FAQ — Cash for Cars in Richmond

Selling Your Title in California

How to Sign Over a Car Title in California

Selling a car in Richmond means signing the title over the right way. Title rules are set at the state level, so here's exactly what California asks of you — and remember, when you sell to us, our driver brings the paperwork and walks you through every step at pickup.

Where to sign

In California, sign the front of the title on line 1A as the registered owner; a second registered owner signs on line 1B. Then complete the odometer and sale-price lines.

Notary required?

No — notarization is not required.

Your license plates

Keep your plates — they stay with you and can transfer to your next car.

Lost your title?

No problem — file an Application for Duplicate Title (REG 227) with the CA DMV.

No title in hand? We regularly buy cars without titles in California — have your ID and registration handy.

Good to know: California requires a smog certification on most sales, though many older and non-running cars are exempt.

For the official rules, see the California DMV title page.

A Little About Richmond

The Story of Richmond, CA

Richmond is a city in western Contra Costa County, California, located in the San Francisco Bay Area's East Bay region. Incorporated on August 3, 1905, Richmond is one of only two cities in the United States that sits on the shores of both San Francisco Bay and San Pablo Bay, the other being San Rafael. With a population of 116,448 as of the 2020 census, it is the second largest city named Richmond in the country, after Richmond, Virginia. The city's name itself has an interesting origin, dating back to 1854 when Edmund Randolph, a state assemblyman from San Francisco originally from Richmond, Virginia, persuaded a federal surveying party to name the area after his hometown on their coastal maps.

Richmond's early development was shaped by major industrial enterprises. The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad established its western terminus at Point Richmond in 1900, becoming a significant employer and driving economic growth. Standard Oil began operations in 1901, establishing what would become the Chevron Richmond Refinery. The Pullman Company opened a major facility in the early twentieth century, employing thousands of workers. Before the area's transformation, the Ohlone people were the first inhabitants, settling in the Richmond area approximately five thousand years ago as hunter-gatherers and harvesters.

The city experienced dramatic growth during World War II when four shipyards were built along the waterfront, drawing thousands of workers and transforming Richmond's demographics and economy. Richmond's population surged from 23,000 in 1940 to approximately 120,000 by 1945, establishing it as a major industrial hub.
